First impressions don’t end when a guest opens the front door. Bathrooms can be the #1 room where your Airbnb’s cleanliness and comfort are judged by guests. A well-thought-out bathroom can dramatically shape a guest’s overall impression (and therefore, review) of your rental space.
Every Airbnb differs in decor and vibe, just as every guest has different preferences. However, it’s usually safe to assume that most guests want the bathroom to feel clean, calming, and somewhat spa-like.
Here are a few easy ways to upgrade your Airbnb bathroom experience. I spent a lot of time personally researching these items, and they’re products we use in our own Airbnb (many of which guests have mentioned positively in reviews).
1. A Towel Warmer
-
- This towel warmer from Amazon is an excellent value.
- There’s nothing better than a warm towel after stepping out of the shower. It’s a small luxury that elevates the guest experience and gives that spa-like feel.
- Optional: leave laminated instructions somewhere in the bathroom so guests know what the unit does and how to use it.
- Tip: Facebook Marketplace is a great place to find good deals on towel warmers
2. Matching White Towels
-
- This towel set is perfect in terms of towel sizing, texture for visual interest, and crisp white color.
- Mismatched towels can unintentionally make a bathroom feel disorganized to a guest. Matching towels creates a more cohesive and polished look.
- Why white?
- Nothing says “spa experience” more than soft, white towels.
- White towels also sends a signal to each guest that they can feel confident in your space’s cleanliness.
- Arm yourself with a good stain remover, and you’ll be surprised at how long white towels can last.
- Tip: Leave out:
- 1-2 makeup towels
- 2-4 dark gray towels (great for pets, kids, or other messy needs)

3. Robes
-
- This is the exact set of robes we use, and they’re another fantastic value.
- They’re durable, hold up well in the washing machine, and add a true touch of luxury. Several guests have specifically commented on loving this feature at our Airbnb.
4. Well-Stocked Toiletries
-
- I use the following checklist for my vanity cabinet amenities (separate from shower items such as shampoo and body wash):

-
- Stores like Target, Walmart, or Walgreens are great places to find travel-size products. While it may seem like a long list, it’s well worth it to show guests that you’ve thought of everything to make them feel comfortable.
5. Luxury Shampoo & Conditioner
-
- The word “luxury” doesn’t have to mean “expensive.”
- This is the shampoo/conditioner set that I have at my Airbnb. I like it because it has a high-end look while remaining budget-friendly.
- Matching shampoo and conditioner again gives a cohesive, thoughtfully designed shower space.
Final thoughts:
Providing guests with an upgraded bathroom experience doesn’t have to mean a full renovation of the space. Small, thoughtful touches go a long way to show guests that you care about their comfort. A comfortable guest is a happy guest, and happy guests leave happy reviews!
