Want a simple, inexpensive way to make your Airbnb more memorable? This interactive décor piece became one of my guests’ favorite features, and it took less than 15 minutes to put together.
Guests travel from many different cities, states, and even countries to stay at your Airbnb. When I have stayed at Airbnbs myself, I always loved flipping through the guest book and seeing where everyone was from. When I started hosting my own Airbnb, I thought… why not bring that same fun experience into my space?
Enter: the Airbnb Travel Pin Board.
Here’s my step-by-step guide to creating your own:
- Gather your materials
- Bulletin Board: I used this one from Amazon – choose whatever size matches your map, I used 24×36 inches
- Map poster: I used this one from Etsy – the colors and style are good to match almost any aesthetic
- Adhesive spray
- Map pins in 2 different colors – I used green and blue
- Tip: You can also buy pre-made map bulletin board, but it is typically more expensive. Creating your own is more budget-friendly.
- Attach the map
- Spray the bulletin board with adhesive spray and carefully lay the map onto the surface. Smooth out wrinkles as you go, applying more spray if needed to secure the edges.
- Tip: Use a wallpaper smoothing tool if you have one on hand.

- Add Guest Instructions
- Make a sign for your guests with instructions for how to use. I printed out these instructions and put them in a small frame near the map:

- Hang your poster and watch the pins accumulate!
I had so many guests say how much they loved interacting with the travel pin board. It was so fun for me as a host to see where people were from and where people have been. There were pins all over the world!
